FAQ

On arrival and departure
I, personally will meet you at the apartment, or at your Hotel, to hand over the keys and show you
round. I will also collect the keys back from you at the apartment when you depart.

Location and getting there
Ask you taxi to take you to Avenida Eloy Alfaro y Portugal ‐approx $2 from areas in the north of Quito.
To book a taxi from the flat call 222 2222 ‐they normally have a taxi within 10 minutes.

Security
The apartment is well protected, with a double door on the front door, electronic cards to access the
building and remote control to open the parking garage. We ask you to take reasonable security
measures for the protection of everyone in the building.

Please close and lock the door gate at all times.

Do not let anyone follow you into the building. Visitors need to contact the apartment they are visiting
to gain access.

While we do everything possible to make your stay comfortable and safe, please arrange for your own
travel insurance, as we cannot accept responsibility for accidents or other losses.

Parking
There is a two underground parking spaces allocated to the apartment. Please park carefully in space 1b
as space is tight. Parking on the street is not allowed. All visitors should use a special visitors parking on
the garage.

Hot Water
The hot water tank is located behind the kitchen. Lift the lever to 'Up' to turn on. We suggest you leave it on while you are in the apartment but turn off if you stay away overnight.

Electricity
Current is 110v/60Hz. Plugs are of the two flat pin type and ground. The fuses are located in the utility
room. There are also candles in the kitchen drawers in case of a power cut.

Telephone and Internet
There is a telephone in the living room which can be used for local calls. It is blocked for outgoing
international calls and calls to mobile phones, but friends and family can call you on 011593‐2‐333 0252.

If you have your own computer, there is a broadband connection in the studio. There is no password
set.

Television
There are 2 televisions. One in the living room and one in the bedroom. The one in the living room has
cable TV service with several stations showing films and other TV shows in English.

Laundry and Garbage
There is a community laundry with dryer machines in the basement that are free to use for the building
residents.

Garbage (la basura) is collected 3 times a week, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. There is a bin on the
basement for this purpose.

You will find a range of cleaning materials under the kitchen sink and some cloths etc in the second
drawer.

Alternatively, a maid can be available to help with cleaning for $10 a visit.

On departure
Please dispose of fresh foodstuffs and leave the flat clean and tidy. Tinned and dried foods can be left
for the next visitors. Keys must be handed back to me on departure. Please do not leave them with the
guards or any other person.
